IU has partnered with Mentor Collective, an online mentoring community that matches students with peer mentors based on their interests, backgrounds, academic interests, and career goals.

How it works
This program matches incoming students with peer mentors who have been in their shoes and know first-hand what it’s like to learn at IU.
As a mentor reflecting on your first-year experience, you’ll be able to provide a warm welcome to new students, learn from each other, and help them along the way as they navigate their first year at IU.
Mentees are matched with a mentor based on common interests, background, academics, or professional aspirations. Mentors and mentees may discuss topics such as:
- How do I succeed in my classes?
- How do I balance school, work, and fun?
- Where can I meet new people and build my network?
- What can I do to prepare for a career or internship?
